Northvale was founded in 1998 to give good businesses a permanent home. We have bought fourteen companies and sold none.
Most buyers plan their exit before they sign. We plan the next generation of leadership.
Our capital comes from three founding families and a small group of long-term institutions. None of it has a deadline. That lets us buy companies whose owners care where they end up, and keep them through good years and bad ones.
We work from New York, London, and Toronto with a team of 30. Our companies employ 6,200 people in nine countries.

Northvale founded
Eleanor Vance starts Northvale with capital from three founding families.
1999
First acquisition
Brightwater Foundry joins as the first company in the group.

Into the United States
Ardent Pressworks becomes our first US holding.

Alder Row Estates starts a long-term property portfolio.
